Agata Cieślak

Agata Cieślak (1990) is a visual artist and writer based in Warsaw. Drawing on popular culture, philosophy, critical theory, psychoanalysis, and real-life events, her practice develops across a variety of media, including texts, sound and video installations, objects, and performances. Utilising a range of narratives and texts, Cieślak’s work raises questions and proposals regarding the role of art in contemporary culture – specifically, what it means for art to articulate an understanding of reality not as a reflection of a particular identity but of subjectivity.
